Zeitgeist

I just watched a documentary of sorts called "Zeitgeist".

This movie was fascinating in its scope and revelations. I knew a fair portion of this information, but even I was floored by the scope of the information they presented and the cohesive manner in which they presented it.

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

Have a look for yourself. Its assertions and information are simply staggering

I'm including two quotes from the website linked above. First we have the "about" page from http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/statement.htm:

Thank you for your interest in Zeitgeist.
Zeitgeist was created as a not for profit expression to inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that very often things are not what the population at large think they are. The information in Zeitgeist was established over a year long period of research and the current Source page on this site lists the sources used / referenced.
Soon, an interactive transcript will be online with detailed footnotes and links.

It's important to point out that there is a tendency to simply disbelieve things that are counter to our understanding, without the necessary research performed.
For example, some information contained in Part 1 and Part 3, specifically, is not obtained by simple keyword searches on the Internet. You have to dig deeper. For instance, very often people who look up "Horus" or "The Federal Reserve" on the Internet draw their conclusions from very general or biased sources. Online encyclopedias or text book Encyclopedias often do not contain the information contained in Zeitgeist. However, if one takes the time to read the sources provided, they will find that what is being presented is based on documented evidence.

That being said, it is my hope that people will not take what is said in the film as the truth, but find out for themselves, for truth is not told, it is realized.

Thank you

I've been studying a bit on the Federal Reserve, Personal Income Tax and issues surrounding 9/11 etc lately as a part of my regular forum debates, as well as my long standing study of Christianity and religion, but I found a lot of information that was new to me, and found many new correlations between that information etc.

While there is still some information in the latter parts of the movie that I'd question or would disagree with, for the most part the information is valid and compelling. Some of the things I would question would be the validity of the 16th Amendment, or the "squibs" on the WTC towers etc. Some of these things have been debunked or explained already, so I was a little disappointed to see them included, but overall I was impressed.

I think the fast pace of the delivery for such a large amount of information lended itself to a bit of cherry picking or taking things out of context etc, but I can somewhat forgive that, given the format of delivery.

I would love to see a much more expanded version of this documentary that could dwell more on the points. I would also love to see an in-depth critique of the film as a whole, addressing all the various claims etc.

With that said, check it out for yourselves! An impressive presentation!

Cogito!

I recently came across the Zeitgeist movie, too, and was equally impressed. I would only add that the astral dimension of Christianity's origins not only debunk any claim to the religion's uniqueness, by lumping it together with the other astral religions, but also position the astral dimensions of religion per se, or astrotheology, to its rightful, central, place in religious sensibility. I propose to account for this religious architecture at www.starlarvae.org.

I just finished watching this movie. I am a devote Christian so for obvious reasons I do not agree with the argument that Jesus Christ never existed. I find one fact never mentioned and still it seemed to me to be the whole reason for this movie. Which is world domination and control of the people…so they end it with the CFR wants to put chips in every person in the world. So what is new about that? Funny that the first part of the movie put Christianity down as false and a hoax ...Yet it comes to the same conclusion that Christianity does.
If you read the Bible you will find that this concept of having a chip is no different than that found in “Revelation 13:16-18 16He [The great ruler] also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.” NIV.
There have been several books and even movies that make mention of this mark. Most notably the 12 book Bestselling book series “The Left Behind: Series by Dr. Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins” I have long known about this mark to be the chip that could carry all of our person data on it. And again for obvious reasons they could not or would not point this fact out to people watching this movie because then it might actually legitimize Christianity rather than discard it which tries to do in the beginning. But the end is the same and most reveling is that this chip will separate the Christians from the rest of the world thus all of Christianity will be underground or killed. And the rest of the world will take this chip willingly. So while this movie tries to destroy Christians they are really only telling people there is nothing to do but sit back and wait because the devil (or who is ruler) will be ushered in on this platform- to democratize the one world order. And get rid of these annoying Christians. Hummmm makes you wonder?

Unfortunately Revelations is written about Emperor Nero, 666 being a numerological representation of his name, a practice often used in those days to avoid persecution for anti-government propaganda etc. Nero was known for persecuting Christians at the time.

You need to do a little more research and a little less suckling on the teat of Christian propaganda alone.

To put it quite clearly, Revelations was written about contemporary events as a form of anti-government propaganda. It has nothing to do with the end times, or about modern day RFID chips. All these claims are nothing more than ignorant wishful thinking.

This stupid movie has been debunked already.

This is just old junk that's been recycled. Same old tired new age whores:

Here's some debunking:

There are so many historical mistakes in the movie Zeitgeist - even AFTER he corrected loads of them in the first edition - that I think watching it has probably lowered my IQ.

Could you at least be a little more helpful and point out some of these errors, or at least direct us to a website that might go into more detail about them etc.

Simply making a statement like that really isn't remotely helpful to anyone but yourself.

Mind you I don't agree with the 9/11 in large part and actually get a little aggravated with that... and I know there are a lot of wild claims etc... but in general it makes a lot of very valid points that almost nobody else has the balls to make about the joke of Christianity and it's plagiarized roots, of which it is hard to honestly disagree with.

The main reason I enjoy this video is because it points out a lot of things to provide food for thought for people too used to taking things as fed to them.

Obviously people should do further research on this and rightfully criticize the flaws which certainly exist. :)

Just so we're clear. ;)

I don't believe Revelations is all about Nero. I believe some what it talks about has happened already, but when you look at the "new earth" aspect and the fact that there is mention of the sun and moon going away, I don't see it being all about Rome. I haven't researched anything connecting Nero to a new earth or an earth without a sun and moon. Let me know if anyone is familiar with where those things are linked to Nero as well.

The biggest thing I get from Jesus' teachings are about how to treat people with love and live respectfully. I don't dig all of this man made religious crap. But whey I research what Jesus said and taught, I don't see anything negative to mankind.

In the Zeitgeist movie, did he make any corrections on the birth of Jesus? I don't see where in the Bible or in any of the written manuscripts by scribes that Jesus was born on Dec 25th? What I do see is that when he was born, shepherds were tending their flock and one reference indicated that shepherds usually tended their flock between the early fall months and December would not have fallen in that time. When I researched Horus, I didn't find where he had 12 disciples. When I researched the death of Krishna, the Hindu manuscripts indicates he was killed by an arrow instead of being crucified. A few other things like that which I can't find matching. Let me know if anyone finds any research where the original manuscripts making reference to these other deities match perfectly. I want to get to the bottom of it all with an unbiased research.

I also found in older Bible manuscripts or books that the events such as Joseph and some of the letters from Isaiah intentionally point to similarities of Jesus. There was even a verse in the Bible in the Book of Romans that indicated that the old testament books imagery is a natural mirror to the life of Jesus for those who who lived before his time. Interesting.

But anyway, let me know if anyone else has any good hard research or can shed light on something I am missing. At the end of the day, what kind of person are you? th

Zeitgeist has websites out there debunking some of the poor research done in it etc. :)

Or you could pick up a back issue of SKEPTIC magazine where they have an issue with a cover story about debunking the shoddy research etc.

It's the cover story of Vol 15, No 1.

"The Greatest Story Ever Garbled" - Tim Callahan on a Christian Origins Conspiracy Theory

http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic/09-02-25#feature

And yes, other people have done plenty of research and Christianity is still bullshit. :)

We know for a fact that the Earth is not 6 to 10,000 years old. We know for a fact that humans did not spontaneously appear at that time in Mesopotamia... modern man having appeared in Africa hundreds of thousands of years earlier, and proto-man millions of years before that. We know for a fact that none of the animals that were supposedly the first things created actually were... we know that the nature of creation was nothing like it is described either... thus we know for a fact that Adam and Eve were never real people... and thus never existed in the Garden of Eden... and thus were never tempted by a talking snake... and thus never ate from the fruit of a magic tree... and thus never committed the Original Sin... and thus no ritual human sacrifice was necessary (nor is it ever, as such barbaric ancient idiocy was largely outgrown even by the time Judaism itself was coming into being..) to pardon us from the supposed taint of a crime that was NEVER COMMITTED... etc etc.

So essentially what you're arguing about Christianity is about as irrelevant to reality as arguing which wizard in the Lord of the Rings was more powerful.

Fiction is fiction. Learn to grasp that fact. :) And try studying more of reality rather than getting stuck in ancient mythology and superstition and you can save yourself some trouble. ;)

This article refutes and disproves claims of Zeitgeist movie, from the part of Christianity:

http://koti.phnet.fi/petripaavola/zeitgeist_movie.html

I suggest to read the article!

JStressman said...

Sorry, but that article is a load of ultra-biased religious bullshit.

Now to be honest, I've actually done a bunch of actual scholarly study on this subject since first watching Zeitgeist several years ago and I know that a lot of the claims about Christianity are inaccurate at best etc.

However that doesn't change the fact that Judeo-Christianity is still a fucking joke. :) And demonstrably so.

As a matter of fact I reference some of this in the comment right above yours. One based far more in fact than the "GOD SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE SO THAT PROVES THE BIBLE IS TRUE AND CHRISTIANITY IS TRUE BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO!! GOD GOD!!" argument you seem to be promoting through that website.
