Update on UK "extreme porn" legislation

I reported on this back in July of last year and now it's back in the news again as it rolls forward.

As this new article in The Register points out, this legislation would make it illegal to have pictures of acts which themselves are perfectly legal under the government's justification that so called "extreme pornography" leads to violence. A very weak claim at best on their part.

Aside from the obvious comments on the trouble with the government becoming the "thought police", I found this quote from Lord McIntosh of Haringey rather poignant; "What does it matter to the Government whether what we have in our homes for our own purposes is for sexual arousal or not? What is wrong with sexual arousal anyway? That is not a matter for Parliament or government to be concerned about."

Who cares about all that. Are you still banging that Jen chick or is she too fat for you?

I'd be tempted not to respond to such a childish post by an Anonymous Coward... but what the heck. Obviously your sad life is in need of a little entertainment. :)

Her and I have been broken up for probably 2 years now? She lives like 200 miles away, so I haven't even seen her in probably a year.

On a side note, since we've broken up she's lost a lot of weight. She had lost a lot of weight even while we were together. She's in great shape now (she's been seeing a personal trainer almost every other day for over 2 years now I think), working a great job that she's been at for over a year now and moved up in the company. I'm really happy for her.

While the weight was a big part of the problem, part of the problem was also that she wanted me to live over there in Detroit by her and work some IT job etc... and I wanted to get out of that field and that area and pursue something different in life. I didn't want the pressure etc. So it was multiple things that led to us going our own ways, but I still love her and think she's awesome. It just wasn't right for either of us. :)

I still don't like fat chicks and never will though. :)

Just working on my own life and seeing where it takes me.

PS: You might try growing up a little.. honestly your comment is really quite pathetic. :)

True, but the answer was entertaining. Thanks. Seriously, post more about your personal life and less about politics and all that crap. I used to love reading your blog, now it makes my brain numb. For instance, who are you currently sleeping with?

Some of do care and more interested in the growing 'thought' police over here in the U.K. In a related matter have you seen this message yet?

It is a call to raise awareness of Liberty issues in the U.K. by calling upon all concerned citizens including US ones to make a mass donation (similar to what the libertarians Ron Paul Movement did).

Magna Carta Day - June 15th!

Join the mass donation for Liberty at www.15thjunemagnacarta.org.

Pass this message on to everyone you know!
